Which input provides your business model/core technology towards a bio-based economy?
We are developing an enabling technology that will allow researchers to perform rapid prototyping on an in-house desktop DNA synthesis platform. By providing high accuracy, high throughput, scalable and rapid synthesis of long fully assembled dsDNA we will enable researchers to accelerate their experiments and reduce the design, build, test cycle towards products which reimagine biology, contributing towards the bio-based economy.
Which market/clients do you address and which short-/long-term goals do you have?
We will address researchers who want to synthesize DNA across all market segments, initially focused on the academic research market where fundamental work is required to realize the potential of synthetic biology. Our short term goal is to develop the platform and get it into the hands of academic researchers and our longer term goal is to enable rapid prototyping across all segments and synthetic biology applications.
What makes your approach unique compared to other stakeholders in this field?
We are developing a technology to flexibly and rapidly synthesize and automatically assemble DNA into double stranded DNA on one platform. By using a unique thermally sensitive synthesis and assembly approach we can enable the synthesis of highly accuracy long dsDNA with greater sequence freedom and diversity.
