In 2012, after obtaining her PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Aniek van der Woude joined Photanol. Photanol’s technology is based on the genetic modification of cyanobacteria to produce a broad range of CO2-based biochemicals and the development of associated production processes.
Aniek is passionate about sustainability and making an impact using biotechnology. As the R&D Manager at Photanol, she is responsible for setting core research strategies and managing a team of researchers in R&D strain development on different project lines. She has been involved in patenting key inventions, GMO permitting and several European and national projects.
